Benefits
Applicable to all ages: Aided Cortical can be used for patients of all ages, including infants, children, and adults with complex needs. It provides audibility at the cortex without relying on subjective feedback from the patient during the test.
Flexible stimulus selection: Clinicians can choose between three stimuli based on their preferences, including ManU-IRU stimuli, HD Sounds and Ling sounds.
Quick adjustment: The Sound Field Analyzer allows quick validation and adjustment of stimulus intensities, especially if the testing environment changes.
Reassurance and confidence: Aided Cortical testing validates if the patient can hear with their hearing aid or cochlear implant, provides confidence in hearing aid fitting and provides peace of mind for relatives. With Aided Cortical testing, we are bridging the gap between early fitting and behavioral testing.
Features
Stimuli Selection: Offers a variety of stimuli options, including ManU-IRU, HD-Sounds, and Ling, allowing customization based on the clinician’s preferences.
Sound Field Analyzer: Enables quick validation of calibration and adjustment of stimuli intensities, especially if the testing room conditions change.
Time-Saving Optimization: Utilizes an optimized Fmpi detector by Interacoustics Research Unit (IRU), saving time during the testing process.

The Aided Cortical test validates that hearing aids or cochlear implants are functioning as intended for individuals who cannot participate in behavioral testing. The test is performed after the hearing device fitting. The Aided Cortical test does not rely on subjective feedback from the patient, and hearing care professionals can use the results to make informed hearing device adjustments.
CAEPs are human responses to sound stimuli generated in the cortical regions of the auditory pathways. Unlike ABR, CAEP testing requires the patient to be awake and alert during testing. It assesses hearing thresholds and higher-level cortical processing, such as distinguishing between different sound stimuli.
The Interacoustics Aided Cortical test is ideal for infants and children and adults with complex needs who cannot participate in behavioral tests.
The Aided Cortical test from Interacoustics has benefits for both the patient, the hearing care professional, and the relatives:For patients: Optimizes the hearing experience for babies as well as for children and adults with complex needs. For the hearing care professional: Creates confidence that the hearing device is functioning as expected. Alerts if the fitting may be inappropriate, so adjustments can be made. For relatives: Reassures parents or other relatives that the hearing device benefits the child/person.
Aided Cortical is only available with Interacoustics Eclipses produced after 2017. Contact us to know if your Eclipse is compatible.
